Taurus Mercury Geminis tend to be too straightforward and Gemini Mercury Geminis don’t always know how to build enough trust to make someone spill out their hearts. Geminis with Cancer Mercuries are also the Geminis who know all the secrets. When they make changes, they’re scared of being told that they’re flighty. They’re especially afraid of changing their minds about things because they’re afraid that the friends who supported them while they were moving in one direction will stop doing so when they start to move in another. They’re afraid that someone will believe them to be more artificial than authentic. They have experience arguing in terms of “I feel”s rather than “I think”s.įor Gemini with Cancer Mercury, the fear of misunderstanding centers their emotional reactions. Geminis with Cancer Mercuries have a lot of experience arguing against people who matter to them emotionally. For Geminis with Gemini Mercury in the evening star phase, they might react very emotionally to what they see as other people making the wrong choices because of the fear of losing control of themselves. Geminis with Gemini Mercury in the morning star phase will usually take it upon themselves to make the right choice and blame themselves for the wrong choice. It’s about walking away altogether and making your own choices. This makes them obsess over the right choice or the wrong choice but the point is not to make a choice that someone else is forcing you to choose. The reason why Gemini Mercury does this is not because they want to be dishonest but rather because they were sometimes forced into choices as a way to manipulate their behavior. It is hard to tell which option they would rather choose because they, themselves, do not know. When Gemini Mercury is combust, this can lead someone to do one thing while talking loudly about how they prefer to be doing the opposite. There’s three subsets of Geminis with Gemini Mercury: there’s Geminis who have Mercury as morning star, Geminis who have Mercury as evening star, and Geminis who have Mercury combust. Gemini with Gemini Mercury: Caught by choice It’s less about making a point and more about reenacting moments when they felt uncomprehended. They might argue high and low for something but then change their minds the next second. Gemini with Taurus Mercury is always arguing against something but sometimes without the firmness that their words seem to carry. Because Gemini with Taurus Mercury learns that it is impossible to change others, they become changeable in response. This teaches Gemini with Taurus Mercury to communicate through giving or taking rather than through dialogue.īecause of this, Gemini with Taurus Mercury also often feels as though they cannot change anyone’s mind. When growing up, it was as if their families were talking to them through something, like money or food, rather than through words. Often, Gemini with Taurus Mercury feels really misunderstood. How Taurus Mercury will show up will depend a lot on the Venus placement since Taurus Mercury is ruled by Venus but one thing that I’ve noticed about Geminis with Taurus Mercuries is that they often feel like they have to struggle against something that feels as immovable as a brick wall. Not all May Geminis have Taurus Mercury and not all June Geminis have Cancer Mercury! However, because Mercury is never more than 28º from the Sun, it is more likely for a May Gemini to be a Taurus Mercury and for a June Gemini to be a Cancer Mercury. Sometimes, you hear people talking about how different May Geminis are from June Cancers. Furthermore, Geminis with Gemini Mercury have Mercuries that are either in the morning phase, the evening phase, or combust. There’s three types of Gemini Suns: Geminis who have Mercury in Taurus, Geminis who have Mercury in Cancer, and Geminis who have Mercury in Gemini. One of the foremost issues in our world today concerns which god is God. Second, He was settling an absolute issue. He, alone, is worthy of worship because He alone is the only one qualified to “meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19). Back in the very beginning, God, who is both the beginning and the end, makes this truth both absolute and irrevocable. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6). Jesus Christ affirmed this even at the entry point of salvation when He said: “I am the way and the truth and the life. He is the only one we can trust in all things. Having positioned ourselves before God, we now can consider the meaning of what it was God was saying about idols and images.įirst, God was cementing an absolute truth. Make the decision to submit to all the Lord says, and you will be blessed indeed. Remember, the Ten Commandments are God’s invitation to come up to where He is, rather than to go down to where man is. Stop and listen, because the Lord will speak to you from the mountain. Fourth, listen! We are surrounded and constantly accompanied by a cacophony of sound and distraction so that it is increasingly difficult to listen to God. Tell the Lord Jesus you are letting go of anything and anyone other than God. Third, release any and all personal opinions and pet peeves about what you have and what you may think about this subject. Jesus taught us to do this upfront when He said: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name” (Matthew 6:9). Why would the Lord involve our children and grandchildren? Here is what I suggest we do in order to grasp fully God’s intended understanding of this commandment.įive things will help position us to hear from the Lord. After all, it is here that God invokes our children. So, what should we do? This second commandment is no joke. Idolatry is the worship of anything or anyone other than God. We worship sport, celebrities, clothes, money, church buildings, politics, positions, abilities and capabilities. We worship so many of our blessings instead of simply thanking God for them and enjoying them. And it will surprise you what the Lord has done!”ĭespite our blessings, we have become an increasingly idolatrous people. As a hymn writer has reminded us “Count your blessings, name them one by one. Despite so many who have immense needs and who suffer greatly, we are still a blessed people. And yet, when their leader went up Mount Sinai to hear from the Lord, they began to worship another god. He parted the sea and provided every means for them to survive-even in the wilderness. After more than 400 years of slavery, God delivered them. When we confess our sin, repent before God and put our faith and trust in Him, we can, once again, have peace with God. By virtue of His death and resurrection, Jesus conquered this rupture in the relationship between God and man. This is why the Lord Jesus Christ came to this Earth to take on Himself the sin of man. God would not share His holy space with another. It immediately became impossible for sinful man to have any semblance of fellowship with a righteous and holy God. Man had not only succumbed to the deceit of Satan, he had transferred his confidence away from God, thus violating God’s supreme demand. He wants us to have peace with Him.īut when Adam and Eve sinned against God, this beautiful and harmonious relationship between the sovereign God and His created person was shattered. The fellowship God had with Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden provides a precious picture of God’s intended purpose for those He loves. The sweet aroma of worship between God and man was clearly seen in the beginning. This is what God expects and demands of all who believe in His name. When we worship, we place our complete confidence and trust in God’s ability to do for us what neither we, nor anyone else, nor anything else, can do for us. You shall not bow down to them or worship them for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me” (Exodus 20:4-5). This commandment is both an encouragement and a warning to us: “You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. To begin with, we must understand that God created us so that we might worship Him. Think about this as we try to understand the enormous significance of God’s decree to Moses from the top of Mount Sinai. Everything I’ve read has indicated that the Super NES translator had insanely tight deadlines and barely enough time to research simple Japanese words like “dinosaur”. I assume the name changed to “Tintinabar” due to name length restrictions, but I can’t help but wonder how it came about to begin with. Still, it’s surprising to me that the Super NES translation would use such a fancy bell-related word here. This is equally as mysterious to me, but viewers in the stream chat looked it up for me – apparently it’s a type of bell mounted on a pole that’s meant to indicate a church’s link with the Pope. Tintinnabulum photo by KiltBear - source, CC BY-SA 2.0The GBA translation appears to pull from the Super NES translation but changes the name to “Tintinnabulum”. The “bell” part in the name is specifically the little jingly kind of bell, and “Tama” is a stereotypical cat name in Japan, which is why the fan translation goes with “Cat’s Bell”. I was even more confused when I learned that it’s called the “Tama Bell” in Japanese. I never knew what this word was, where it came from, or what it was supposed to signify. In the Super NES translation, this item is known as a “Tintinabar”. What’s Up with the Tintinabar?Īfter doing a letter-mailing side quest, you can get a special accessory that restores a little bit of HP with every step you take. I’m somehow always fascinated by how punctuation gets handled by different translators from different times. The fan translation and machine translation go with “Catalina”.Īlso, although it’s not a very big issue, note the usage of ellipses in each version in the second screenshot above. The GBA translation follows the Super NES translation but cleans up the inconsistency problem by going with “Katarin” everywhere. In the Super NES translation, we first see her name as “Katrin”, but elsewhere she’s labeled as “Katarin”. In Japanese, she’s known as カタリーナ ( katarīna), which can be written out in English as “Catarina, “Katarina”, “Catalina”, and other variations. There’s an NPC girl in Mobliz who plays a part in the story later. |
